Jenny Lee Powers College of the Canyons to 2007 CCCAA Title;
Freshman Takes Individual Honors with Championship Record Score
With only round two left in the California Community College Women’s Golf State Championship, Santa Barbara City College and College of the Canyons were poised to duke it out for top honors. That was not to be. College of the Canyons was on a mission to take it away from the reigning champions. Lead by Jenny Lee’s record performance in the State Championships, the College of the Canyons obliterated the competition with a final round 304 and record score of 319 for two rounds. Lee won the Individual State Championship with a record championship score of 143. Santa Barbara shot a 318 to finish second with a 633. Fresno City College finished third at 669 and Sierra College fourth with a 709.
