Highlight: Palomar sweeps all three of its games on championship day to win state title, its first since 1993. Angela Blackmon singled home Melissa Serrato, who had doubled, with winning run in bottom of the 7th. Michelle Martinez pitched a complete-game three-hitter, allowing no walks and striking out three. Long Beach eliminated.

Highlights: Brandy Chavez ground out scored Jolene Metz, who had walked and advanced to third on a two-base Long Beach error, with the game-winning run.

Highlights: Sacramento loaded the bases with none out, but Bruno fought her way out of it, yielding only a sacrifice fly to preserve the Viking win. Tiffany Satalino, Carinne Richdale and Busick had RBI singles for West Valley. Sacramento eliminated.

Highlights: Distefano pitched and eight-hitter and walked three, but shut out the Panthers, who left 10 runners on base. Long Beach advances in the winner bracket, while Sacramento goes into Saturday's elimination round.

Highlights: Jenkins was in command all the way, pitching a six-hitter while fanning nine, including NorCal Player of the Year Hannah Low all three times she faced her. Roustan doubled home pinch runner Jenn Read with the only run of the game in the fourth inning as Palomar advanced to Saturday night's championship bracket game against Long Beach.

Highlights: Nina Distefano bested Tanya Wilson with a two-hitter. She walked two and struck out four, dropping Sequoias into the loser bracket. Sonia Rojo scored the game's only run on a bases-loaded walk to Dara Webb.

Highlights: Masaniai's RBI triple got Merced going in the second inning and the Blue Devils, the top seed in the north, got their tournament off to a solid start.
