Glendale College dethroned the 2006 women's champion Orange Coast, and San Bernardino Valley won its second consecutive men's championship at the 2007 CCCAA Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park on a beautiful afternoon in Fresno, CA.
Crystal Reed ( Orange Coast) won the women's individual title with a time of 17:32, edging Glendale's pair of Tove Berg (17:59) and Vivien Wadeck (18:02). On the men's side, Daniel Gonia (San Diego Mesa) won individual honors with a time of 4:59, only three seconds off of the state championship record time for the Woodward course. Alfredo Corondado (Canyons) finished second with a time of 20:19, trailed by teammates from San Bernardino, Carlos Perez (20:33) and Matthew Prentice (20:34).

Fires Force Changes to Cross Country Postconference Sites and Format (10/30/2007) -- Southern California Regional meet moved to Mt. San Antonio College
The Southern California Regional Championship meet scheduled for this Saturday, November 3 has been relocated to Mt. San Antonio College. The men's and women's regional finals events were originally scheduled to take place at Irvine Regional Park located near the Santiago Canyon fires.
The women's race begins at 10 am, followed by the men at 11 am at Mt. SAC.
Poor air quality as a result of the Southern California fires forced the cancellation of last Saturday's South Coast Conference championship meet in Long Beach. The SCC finals will take place as part of the regional finals and will be scored separately. The Orange Empire and Pacific Coast Conference will also be competing in their conference meets at the regionals after also cancelling their events.
